Art Handling Olympics!

In honor of our upcoming installation week, SSG would like to pass on a little gem we stumbled upon over at the NewYorkTimes ArtBeats blog: ART HANDLING OLYMPICS! We really wish we had known about this in time to crate Andrew and send him up to compete. Alas, we are just spectators this go-round. At least until Monday when the installation of paintings by Geoffrey Chadsey and the site specific sculptural piece by Takafumi Ide begins!

Make sure to come out for our members' preview on Thursday, April 1 from 5:30-7:30 or for First Fridays on Friday, April 2 also from 5:30-7:30pm.  If you walk up 2nd Street next week, look through the windows to witness our version of the art handling olympics!

Cheers, SSG

p.s. here's another blog about the ins and outs of art handling

Visitor's View on Conflict/Interest

"This show speaks to me very deeply.  My nephew is a Blackhawk helicopter pilot in Iraq. It's what he wanted to do since he was small. So this show has significance for me. I tried to change his mind but he is happy flying. Thank you all for this very poignant show.
